Hot contests, slugfests and all that jazz...

The poll thriller is keeping audiences on seats edge. As the drama unfolds and becomes ever more complex, one wonders when the next twist or bang will lead to a collective jump or gasp. The climax will take a long time coming in this action-packed flick which has no intermission. We have been making note of every detail and as we put our heads together to give you a review of this potboiler, we look forward to hearing from you what you think about it. Most of all we need you to tell us if the change everyone seems to be looking forward to at the end of this flick will really arrive. Will we see a fresh scene in the absence of choices that are removed from the old, weary and tarnished? What then might we see when this buzz dies down? Write in to us to tell us what you think of every histrionic as you see it.

Tied down by tie-ups

The 15th Lok Sabha elections are round the corner. Politicians and their parties have set foot on the electoral war path already and the signs of a bitter battle ahead are visible to anyone who cares enough to see.
That coalition politics is here to say is beyond debate. But at what cost? That's the question we are asking. Tell us what you think are the pitfalls of coalition politics, its advantages and if you think we will ever go back to sweeping majorities being won by any single party.
We at the mandate believe that your voice can make a difference. Tell us what you feel.

The Battle of the Ballot!

In a climate when everyone is urging you to use the power of your ballot, to make a difference, have you asked yourself what really is the value of your vote?
Does your vote really make a difference? What if the choice you face is between the devil and the devil reincarnate? In such a situation are you merely exercising your franchise to ensure that someone is at the helm of affairs, that someone is walking the corridors of power with the key to you life, or are you really getting to elect someone who deserves the right and has the credibility, capability, motivation and intent to govern?
In our maiden issue we take a deeper look into our electoral system. We lay thread bare the system there is and what really can be done to make a difference. What will really help make your vote and our vote matter. Give it the strength to really make a difference and give us efficient, clean and transparent governance.
We want to give your voice a platform. We welcome your comments, your emails and your responses to the issue we hold dear.
